5th Graders sitting in front of an old stone building

Last Friday, 5th graders of Northeast Elementary went on a field trip to Cato Kid's Day! Students were exposed to life in the 1800's during the time of the Civil War!

Students were able to interact with presenters who were dressed in clothing of that time era, who taught them about things such as; one room school houses, causes and effects of the war, cattle ranching and branding, farming, Native American living, blacksmithing and weaponry!

Students were fascinated with the 'time traveling' experience, and were even able to participate in an opening and closing ceremony of singing traditional songs with other area schools!
